The units matter — don't get fooled by a bigger number.

3割引わりびき (30% off): ¥1,000 → ¥700.

Massive difference. Always check whether the number is 割** (tenths) or 円** (yen).

⚠️ Some stickers say 表示価格ひょうじかかくより (from the displayed price) — this means the discount happens at the register, not on the tag. Don't assume the listed price is the final one.
